Since 1883, Radnor Hunt has been carrying on the tradition of foxhunting while celebrating and promoting the open space that affords this cherished sport. You don‘t have to foxhunt - or even be an equestrian - to enjoy membership at Radnor Hunt.
Whether they ride or not, members embrace the equestrian tradition of Radnor Hunt and enjoy being surrounded by the sights and sounds of an active fox hunt and equestrian community with a rich history. The dining, rackets and welcoming social scene in this extraordinary setting create an unparalleled club offering.
Radnor Hunt traces its origins to a group of foxhunters who began hunting with a pack of hounds owned by Thomas Mather in Radnor Township in the late nineteenth century. Increasing development around the clubhouse in Radnor Township was making hunting difficult and in the fall of 1931, a new property was acquired and hunting commenced at its current Willistown Township location. It was a new era at Radnor Hunt. And its members were keen to foxhunt and have fun.
The charming clubhouse, an expanded 1857 farmhouse, and the stables and kennels, were renovated and constructed under the direction of Hunt member and renowned Philadelphia architect Arthur Meigs in 1931.
Beyond foxhunting, today Radnor Hunt offers its members a unique dining experience in a spectacular setting amidst 100 acres of open space. A delightful menu, social events, an historic stable, an indoor riding arena, racket sports, and a myriad of activities embrace the community and offer a warm and welcoming home to its members.
